Our Sedation Services
Sedation dentistry at MWFS includes options to suit your individual needs and comfort levels.
- Oral Sedation involves a strong sedative medication taken before the procedure. It will help you feel deeply relaxed, with little memory of the procedure afterwards.

Treatment FAQs
Who administers the sedation during my procedure?
Oral sedation (medication) is prescribed by our dentists and is taken orally by the patient prior to the appointment. IV sedation is administered by our trained Sedationist. A consultation prior to the day of your procedure is required to discuss which option is right for you.
How will I feel after sedation?
You will feel sleepy or groggy. Our team will monitor you after the procedure to ensure you recover from the effects of sedation and are well enough to go home. You will need to organise someone to drive you home. Once at home, take the remainder of the day to rest and fully recover.
Will there be any complications after my treatment?
As with any dental treatment or surgical procedures, watch out for any unusual symptoms. These may be excessive bleeding, swelling, infection, fever or severe pain. Take any medications as prescribed and directed to you by your dentist. Call us immediately with any concerns.
Can I claim or pay off my dental treatment?
Certainly! If you are covered for your type of treatment, you will be eligible* for a rebate from your dental fund. We also offer interest free payment plans* from Humm where you pay a portion upfront and pay off the remainder over 3-12 months. Ask us to help you check your eligibility. (*T&Cs apply)
